Over at the Extreme Systems forums a user called TiN EOF posted the results of his all new world record processor overclocking. Listen to this, the guys achieved a blistering 8199 MHZ (!) on a Celeron D 347 processor.

Here’s the kit he used:
* D347 lapped, then IHS-removed and polished
* Xtremelabs.org MAGNUM Legend Edition copper pot
* DFI Lanparty UT P35-T2R
* Some fast evil Nidec fans
* OCZ 1GB DRAM
* Radeon 7000 VE PCI
* ENERMAX Revolution85+ 1250W
The Cedar Mill architecture based processor is normally clocked at 3.06GHz. To get it towards 8GHz he needed more than just cooling, as he removed the heat spreader from the processor.
AT 2.096V, liquid Nitrogen cooling and the heat spreader removed he reached 8199.5MHz.
