Lian Li makes some very cool computer cases for all sorts of uses. A couple of its new PC cases have been unveiled called the PC-Q09 and the PC-Q09F. These cases have a mounting kit that is optional that will allow the user to hide the case behind their monitor. Typically, only tiny computers can be hidden behind the screen on your desk.

The PC-Q09 is a smaller chassis measuring in at 256 x 110 x 200mm and weighing 1.4kg. The little case has a slim CD-ROM optical drive and a standard 2.5-inch HDD slot along with a standard 110W mini-ITX PSU with an external power brick allowing the chassis to be thinner and lighter with less heat output inside the chassis.

The chassis is covered in 1.5mm thick aluminum. The little case uses passive cooling with top and side vent holes and an 80mm fan can be put on the side of the chassis. Other features include a pair of USB 3.0 ports and more on the front cover. The PC-Q09F is 265 x 124 x 200mm and weighs 2.1kg. Seagate today announced channel and OEM shipments of the Momentus XT drive, the world’s fastest 2.5-inch laptop PC hard drive, combining SSD-like performance with the massive capacity and much lower cost of HDDs.

The Momentus XT drive also features Adaptive Memory – a groundbreaking new technology from Seagate that learns and optimizes the drive’s performance to each user by moving frequently used information into the flash memory for faster access. ASUS has also announced that it will offer the Momentus XT drive as an upgrade option for its new Republic of Gamers (ROG) G73Jh notebook. The system is powered by an Intel i7 720Qm quad-core processor, 8GB of DDR3 memory, and DX11 capable ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5870.

Apparently, Seagate will not only increase the maximum storage space, but it will also enable higher transfer speeds by means of the 6Gbps SAS interface. Known as the Constellation ES, the HDD will have a capacity of no less than 3TB and will come to replace the Baracuda ES. The latter spins at 7,200RPM and has up to 2TB of storage of its own.

In addition to the 3TB model, Seagate is supposedly also planning to make advancements on the 2.5-inch segment. Currently, the Baracuda ES 2.5-inch tops at 500GB. The Constellation will supposedly have 1TB, which means it will be the world’s highest capacity compact storage device. Furthermore, the report suggests that even a new, 2.5-inch Savvio (the famed 600GB unit with a rotary speed of 10,000RPM) will be upgraded to 750GB.

The Constellation ES 3TB device should show up later this year, whereas the 2.5-inch, 1TB unit is expected to debut around the middle of 2010. Unfortunately, there is no knowing when the Savvio will come out. Of course, it should be noted that WD also intends to unleash its own 3TB unit, although it is unclear whether it will also be meant for the enterprise or if it will cater to consumer needs.
