AMD is giving a sneak peek into the future, well next year 2011 that is. AMDs future processors will be called APUs (Accelerated Processing Units) and during a Press Conference yesterday in Taipei, the company’s Senior VP and GM, Rick Bergman showcased a DirectX 11 demo of the 2011-bound APUs. Don’t confuse that with say Intel’s Clarkdale which has in fact two processing units (CPU and a GPU) both sitting on the processor package.

NVIDIA published a video of an Instinct Technology technology demo which uses NVIDIA CUDA to accelerate in-game AI effects. The demo shows 1024 planes, each using 10 different steering mechanisms to portray realistic avoidance and flocking, Check it out.
