Over at the Extreme Systems forums a user called TiN EOF posted the results of his all new world record processor overclocking. Listen to this, the guys achieved a blistering 8199 MHZ (!) on a Celeron D 347 processor.

The Cedar Mill architecture based processor is normally clocked at 3.06GHz. To get it towards 8GHz he needed more than just cooling, as he removed the heat spreader from the processor.

AT 2.096V, liquid Nitrogen cooling and the heat spreader removed he reached 8199.5MHz.

Koolance has decided to expand their cooling capabilities and the company has released its first liquid nitrogen evaporator.

The Koolance CPU-LN2 has a nickel-plated copper base that provides an extremely smoothe and flat finish, increasing the cooler’s effectiveness. The acetal shrouded flask and its base measure 6cm in diameter and the entire cooler is 20cm tall.
