Fastest quad-core, new six-core AMD chips in September
Share The colleagues over at X-bit Labs report that AMD will introduce a couple of new processors on September 21st, 2010. This includes a new six-core chip clocked at 3.0GHz and also a multiplier unlocked 3.5GHz quad-core.
Intel to Launch 8-core Xeon this month
Share Alongside a 6-core launch for consumers, in the enterprise segment Intel will start shipping eight-core Nehalem-EX processors this month already. The pending 8-core Xeons will be able to run in four-socket servers and, by leveraging the two threads of each core, the logical CPU count can reach 64 cores on a single system.
